As my kids get older and older, there’s one little secret I’ve used time and time again to make our homeschool just a little bit easier on all of us. Anytime possible, I let someone else do the teaching! Not only does this give my kids a new perspective but it also frees up my own time. Although I’ve been successful in finding math, science and history classes that do the teaching, I still couldn’t find one specific subject: language arts. That’s why I set out to find a high school writing video course that didn’t cost an arm and a leg.
To be honest, teaching writing isn’t something that comes naturally to me. It feels a little silly saying that since I love to write and I’d say it’s one of my biggest strengths. However, it comes easy to me so I have a hard time breaking it down for my kids. You know how sometimes the best baseball players have a hard time teaching their kids how to throw a curveball because they don’t really know HOW they do it, they just DO IT. Well, that’s how writing is to me.
The older my kids get, the more I realize that we’ve missed the mark when it comes to writing. But that was about to change!

WriteShop’s High School Writing Video Course
Anytime I’m looking for a new curriculum, I tend to turn to the most trusted names in the homeschool world. I’ve reviewed WriteShop in the past and knew it was a high-quality curriculum but at the time, it didn’t offer the video feature. But now it does and the new updated WriteShop is exactly what we needed!
Easier to Use:
Let’s be real here: I don’t have hours upon hours to sit around grading all of my kids’ schoolwork. After teaching the youngsters, making sure the teenagers are completing their lessons and keeping our house running smoothly, I’m beat.
The new and improved WriteShop high school writing video course solves that problem, though! It does the teaching for me AND teaches students to self-edit. That reduces the amount of time I need to spend on each kiddo’s assignments each day!
The new video component makes WriteShop the perfect choice for parents who can’t afford a tutor yet feel unequipped to teach writing to their kiddos. The “Edit Fearlessly” training gives parents that extra boost of confidence to edit their kids work quickly and efficiently, without feeling overwhelmed.
Quick, Engaging Lessons:
I can’t blame my kids for getting bored just thinking about their writing assignments. After years of dull curriculum, they didn’t expect the engaging and funny lessons that WriteShop provides. With colorful graphics, clear instructions, practical examples, WriteShop encourages independent work. The bite-sized lessons keep students attention for the whole module, which can be completed in about 10-15 minutes.
Flexible Learning for the Whole Family:
My favorite part about the high school writing video course is that I can use it for all of my kids! The lessons never expire so students can work at their own speed, without feeling pressure. The latest updates make the course more relevant to teens and helps them learn to self-edit better.
Not Full of “Fluff:”
There’s not much I hate more in a curriculum than opening it up to find it packed full of extra stuff that didn’t need to be included. With WriteShop’s high school writing video course, students will learn through fun examples, step-by-step demonstrations and key points. Each lesson is easy to understand, even for students who hate writing!
The Latest Updates:
