Wondering how Wisdom Wonder Project can simplify your homeschool math?
When you first begin homeschooling, there are certain things that can scare the heck out of you! For me, it was thinking about homeschooling high school, science labs and math. Those 3 things kept me wide awake at night, wondering how I would ever teach them.
I quickly realized that high school wasn’t THAT scary. In fact, it wasn’t that much different from elementary or middle school. So I checked that off my list.
Science labs could be outsourced to online programs that would do the teaching for me. Virtual labs made sure that my kids didn’t blow up our kitchen during an experiment that went hay-wire.
But math…oh, math.
I was never a great math student. In fact, I swore that after high school, I would never use math again. I simply am not a numbers girl.
(What a joke, right!?! You have to use math, even if you’re a stay-at-home mom. I still have to budget, pay bills and balance checkbooks. Thinking I would never use math again was a real funny joke that I just told myself…)
Why Singapore Math?
Nowadays, when I’m looking for a math program for my homeschoolers, I’m drawn to thorough and highly effective options. Singapore math is just that!
Singapore Math naturally prepares students by building on existing knowledge using their highly effective framework.
Singapore Math teaches to a mastery approach, which many parents find annoying. After all, it feels like you’re teaching the same thing over and over. However, this repetition is exactly what young students need to become problem solvers. A mastery approach helps students gain confidence and increases resourcefulness.
Singapore Math offers proven results and increases student performance by easily and accurately introducing new topics.
The intentional sequencing of concepts helps students easily tackly mental math ideas in an effortless way.
Students learn to think through concepts and apply what they’ve learned in new ways with each problem that’s introduced. This encourages greater engagement and broadens student’s thinking.
I know what you’re thinking:
“Yeah, yeah. That sounds great and all but I’m still NOT a math teacher!”
That’s where Wisdom Wonder Project comes into play!
Wisdom Wonder Project takes all the guesswork and struggle out of teaching Singapore math. In fact, you won’t be teaching it at all!
The concepts taught in Wisdom Wonder Project’s videos are whimsical and fun, but also developmentally appropriate for each level.
