Tips for Hosting Christmas

Make a Guest List:

The first step in planning any party is to make a list of all the guests you want to invite. While this may seem obvious, it’s important to actually sit down and do some writing out so that you know exactly who will attend your Christmas party!

Don’t forget to invite friends and family that you don’t see that often. If you’ve lost touch with loved ones and would like to reconnect for the holidays, Tracing agents can help you find those folks and make your holiday feel complete.

Make a Game Plan:

With party planning, every second counts! This means that the more prepared you can be ahead of time, the better. To help with this, we recommend creating some sort of game plan for yourself before your Christmas Party actually begins to avoid feeling overwhelmed and frazzled. Even if you’re not normally a planner, we can assure you that this step will come in handy when the time comes!

Shop:

Now is also an excellent time to shop for all of your Christmas party needs. If there are any specific decorations or supplies needed but you don’t have them on hand already, this is a great time to go out and purchase them. If you don’t know what exactly it is that you need, ask someone who has hosted parties in the past for advice!

Clean:

Next on the list of things to do is my favorite: clean up your home or other venue where you’ll be hosting. This is a great time to get rid of anything you don’t need and make sure that your space is free from clutter.

Make Food:

Now it’s finally time to cook! If this isn’t something you want or can handle doing on your own, we highly recommend buying a few key items premade from the store. No one will care if you made the pasta salad or spent $5 on it at Wal*Mart! Just throw it in a fancy serving bowl and no one will ever be the wiser.

Create A Dessert Table:

Everyone loves dessert, especially at Christmas time! To make sure that your guests can sample a variety of sweet treats, create an entire table dedicated to desserts. This way, everyone will be able to try everything you have without feeling like they’re taking too much or being wasteful.

Make Sure You Have Enough Food And Drink:

Providing food and drinks for a lot of people is actually a skill. You need to make sure there’s plenty for everyone, without tons of extras that end up in the trash can.

It may be tempting to have everyone bring something so you’ll only need one grocery trip, but this can easily result in a lot of wasted time and money if people don’t follow through or forget what they promised! To avoid any mix-ups, create a list ahead of time that all attendees are welcome to use as their shopping checklist for whatever items they’re bringing.

Party:

Now that everything’s in order, it’s finally time to have fun. Make sure that everyone has arrived safely and then get this party started! We recommend kicking things off with some festive Christmas games while you wait for dinner or dessert to finish cooking. Once everything is complete, set out all the food and make sure that everyone knows where their seats are.

Enjoy:

Now it’s time for you to enjoy your Christmas party! Make sure you’ve taken a moment during the event to thank anyone who helped beforehand so they know how much you appreciate them coming or their help with setting up. Once you’re ready, sit back and relax while everyone else enjoys themselves!

Keep the Party Hoppin’:

In order to ensure everyone stays energized and engaged, make sure you’re not playing upbeat music during a slow period where people may start feeling sleepy or bored. If your party is going well and it’s getting late, consider breaking out the karaoke machine so guests have fun singing along together!

Stay open-minded throughout the night as things progress – if one activity isn’t going over too well, switch gears by offering something else that will get more people involved right away. It can also help if there are some older adults in attendance who’d appreciate quiet time to have conversation with each other without being surrounded by loud music!

Play Christmas Party Games:

If you’re looking for some festive activities to help your guests get into the Christmas spirit, consider playing games like “pin the nose on Rudolph” or a white elephant gift exchange.

This is also where karaoke machines come in handy! If everyone’s feeling up to it, they can pick their favorite songs while someone acts as the DJ so you don’t have to worry about anything.

Set Up A Photo Booth:

Photo booths are a great way to help guests unwind and have fun with the company of others.

Once you’re done snapping, they can take home their own copy so they’ll always remember how much fun your party was!

End The Party With A Toast:

Before everyone leaves, be sure that everyone has had enough food and drink to last them throughout the night! Then, thank everyone for coming and sharing a toast to Christmas.

Wrap It Up:

When it comes to hosting the perfect Christmas party, there is a lot of pressure. You want your guests to enjoy themselves and you want them to feel welcome in your home. The best way for this to happen is by considering what makes people happy and comfortable.

From providing tasty food that can be served buffet style or passed around at cocktail hour, decorating with seasonal colors like reds and greens, setting up cozy seating areas so they don’t have far walk from room-to-room, making sure there are plenty of outlets for charging devices near all those holiday lights, remembering the small details such as stocking stuffers on their chairs after dinner – these are just some suggestions!
