Adding field trips into your homeschool can making learning fun while giving your kids an insider’s look into the real world. Homeschool field trips are easy to set up! Simply figure out where you want to go, call them and set a date! Some field trips are better for large groups while others are better for only a small group of people. For example, we toured a large newspaper company with about 50 other kids and it was perfect. There was plenty of space for everyone on the tour and the kids came up with great questions. On the other hand, we’ve taken baking lessons with a “famous” local man with just a few kids. This was best because it was in a small kitchen and we were baking our own bread, cinnamon rolls and chicken noodle soup. It would’ve been impossible to do with 50+ kids!
Use your judgement to determine how many people should attend. If you are unsure, simply ask the company or person when you call them to schedule your homeschool field trip.
