Perfect Homemade Valentine Treats

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to spoil the ones you love. Between flowers, gifts and candy, there are plenty of gift ideas that will make your loved ones smile. But we all know that homemade Valentine treats beat all others.

The problem is, homemade Valentine treats are time-consuming and expensive! Wouldn’t it be nice if busy mamas could whip up a yummy treat that looks and tastes like you’ve spent hours making it? Well there is!

Let me introduce you to Sweet Hearts!

Perfect for anyone you love: your mom, the husband, neighborhood kids or the UPS guy who doesn’t mind when you answer the door sporting a messy bun and no bra. 😉  No matter who you make these for, the love mixed into them will not go unnoticed.

Quick and Easy Homemade Valentine Treats

Ingredients:

1 box of brownie mix, any brandQuick and easy homemade Valentine treats that look like a million bucks!

2 eggs

1/2 C. vegetable oil

3 tbsp. water

Pink frosting (I used Pillsbury Strawberry Frosting because it’s cheap and easy and still tastes delicious.)

Valentine sprinkles

Round frosting tip

Disposable piping bag (I keep these on hand. For under 10¢ each, I don’t mind tossing them when I’m done. And I only need to restock up on them every few years!)

Heart shaped cookie cutter

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Line a 9×13 baking dish with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Combine the brownie mix, 2 eggs, vegetable oil and water mixing well.

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.

Bake for 18-22 minutes.

Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Use the heart cookie cutter to cut out the brownies. You will want an even number of heart brownies.

Pour the Valentine sprinkles into a small dish or plate.

Attach the round frosting tip to the disposable piping bag and fill with frosting.

Flip a heart shaped brownie over and frost the edge. By frosting the bottom of the brownie, all crumbs will remain inside the cookie sandwich, instead of on your lap. 😉

Take a second brownie and sandwich the brownies together.

Dip the frosted brownie sides in the Valentine sprinkles.

Repeat with all the brownies.

This recipe hits all the necessities for a busy mama: cheap, easy and gives the illusion that you’ve spent hours in the kitchen while you were really just browsing Pinterest!

It’s okay. Your secret is safe with me. 😉
