Looking for end of summer bash ideas? We’ve got you covered!
I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer just yet. We’ve made some awesome memories and had more fun in the last few months than we have in a very long time. I gotta say, when you’re on vacation for an entire month of the summer, it goes by very, very fast!
I’m working on planning an “End of Summer” bash for some local homeschool families in our town. We’re excited to enjoy a day getting to know new families and catching up with old ones. Planning this day has been fun, to say the least! If you can, I’d highly recommend planning one in your area. If you don’t know a lot of homeschool families, just post to a local homeschool Facebook page. I’m certain you’ll have plenty of interest!
End of Summer Bash Ideas
- Water balloons (Check out these reusable ones! So much easier than traditional balloons)
- Old-school games (tag, hide-and-seek, etc.)
- Squirt guns (or squirt bottles! Much cheaper and they hold more water)
- Book Exchange
- Photo Booth
- Frozen treats
- Clothing exchange (Perfect for growing kids!)
- Kickball
- Potluck
- Outdoor movie
- Curriculum exchange
- Luau theme lunch
- Dance party

- Scavener Hunts
- Charades
- Obstacle Courses
Print Some Games
For our big party, we’ll be playing some of our favorite Minute to Win It games and doing some of these lively ice breakers. (I like to include them whenever we’re meeting new people! It’s a great way to help kids feel more comfortable when they’re new to our group, without putting them on the spot.)
You can grab both games for free when you join our weekly mailing list!
If you’re not sure where to hold your End of Summer Bash, here are some ideas:
- Local park
- Your town’s community center
- Church
- Your backyard
- Baseball/soccer/football field
- Local swimming pool
- Library
- Local bank’s meeting room
- Trampoline park
- Restaurant (our local pizza joints have a “party room,” which would be perfect if it’s too hot outside)
If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to connect with other families in your area, I highly suggest planning an “End of Summer Bash!”
All you need to do is find a location and pick a date! Ask families to bring supplies, like jump ropes, whiffle balls and snacks to share! Using Facebook and the word-of-mouth, your event is sure to be a hit!
Would you like some extra financial help with your homeschool?
Another (home) school year is about to start! Maybe you’ve already started your year, or maybe your school year never ended (you homeschool year-round). Either way, what homeschool mom couldn’t use a little extra money for homeschool curriculum or resources? Winning a gift card to a major online homeschool retailer would surely help you check some things off of your curriculum wish list!I’ve teamed up with a great group of homeschool bloggers to bring you a HUGE gift card giveaway to Christianbook.com. We will be blessing THREE homeschool families with a $200 gift card for you to use on curriculum, books, games, puzzles, or whatever educational supplies you might need!
We know homeschooling can put a financial strain on families – whether it’s from living on one-income or buying curriculum for multiple children – the financial aspect of it can be stressful. Our hope is that we can bless a few homeschool families (although we wish we could bless many more) and ease a little of that financial burden.
