Easy to Use Government Curriculum for High Schoolers
Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum is one of our very favorite homeschool companies when it comes to high school. We’ve loved their open-and-go science courses and have used them for several years. I was thrilled to learn they offer a government course, as well!
There are a few things we’ve grown to love about Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum and the government curriculum didn’t disappoint!
Easy to Use:
By the time your child is in high school, they should be learning independently. I love that there isn’t any prep work and my kids can do the lessons on their own.
Once they’ve completed a workbook, they bring it to me and I look over it while they take the quiz. It’s a simple system that takes all of the hard work out of it for me.
No Fluff:
Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum is a no-nonsense curriculum. They don’t use bright, distracting cartoons to teach students. Instead, their to-the-point lessons teach kids what they need to know, without adding in a ton of extra “fluff.”
Affordable:
When I first purchased Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum, I was worried that it wouldn’t be worth the price. But I quickly saw the value in the program. I completely takes all teaching responsibilities off my plate, while doing a fantastic job at presenting the material in an unbiased way.
With every single Paradigm Accelerated course we’ve purchased, it’s been worth every penny. Of course, the Principles and Precepts of Government course was no exception.
Tackles Hard Topics:
There are just certain topics that don’t excite homeschool parents and for me, that’s teaching a government class. `
Principles and Precepts of Government teaches students about the history and concepts of government, the American Republic and the evolution of different forms of government. Beyond that, it even teaches the sacrifices that are required to preserve our freedoms.
In today’s day and age, I prefer to present the simple facts to my kids and allow them to come to their own conclusions about our government. Principles and Precepts of Government has opened up so many conversations about things we see happening around us that simply aren’t the way it should be.
Worth 1/2 a Credit:
The Principles and Precepts of Government course designed for high school seniors. It’s available in print or digital format. As always, we love the printed version because it tends to be easier for us to use, especially while we’re on the go!
The program is made up of 3 soft-cover text booklets and activity books, as well as the Teacher’s Resource Kit.
Students work through the booklets then complete 9 quizzes and 3 chapter tests before earning half a credit of high school government class.
