When we started planning our curriculum choices for the year, I knew it would look different than in years past. A lot of our family dynamic has changed over the last 12 months and our homeschool was bound to reflect that!
While I normally spend the whole summer piecing together free bits and pieces of curriculum, add in my own hands-on activities and spend days ensuring I’ve covered everything I need, I simply didn’t have the time or energy to do that this year. As much as I dreaded it, I was going to have to use ready-to-go curriculum.
I didn’t have tons of hope that I’d fall in love with a program but when we found BookShark’s science, that’s exactly what happened. Who knew that a professional curriculum company could throw together a more organized, easy-to-use and high quality curriculum better than little ol’ me? 😉

Why We Love BookShark Science
The first thing I fell in love with about BookShark Science was the amazing list of books that were included with the curriculum. Each year, I order several books to use alongside our studies. I was thrilled to find that BookShark included the same quality of books and I didn’t have to read hundreds of reviews and search through millions of titles to find what works best for us.
There’s nothing I hate more than feeling like we’re behind in our homeschool. BookShark’s 4-day schedule allows us plenty of time to get things done around the house, plan field trips and take off a few days to play in the sun, without feeling overwhelmed.
The complete package:
BookShark includes a box full of everything you’ll need to complete the activities and experiments. I love that I don’t need to run to the local Dollar General in search of yellow clay. It’s all right there, ready and waiting for when we need it!
Even better is the fully-planned, easy-to-use schedule they’ve laid out for you. Just open your teacher’s manual and go! No need to figure out what to do each day: it’s all there, plain as day, ready and waiting!
Awesome hands-on activities:
If I were going to create my ideal curriculum, it would be centered around hands-on activities. It’s just the way some kids learn best and I love being able to be involved in the learning process. BookShark has some awesome hands-on activities built right into the curriculum. I love that I don’t have to spend hours searching Pinterest to find high-quality activities.
Each activity includes easy-to-use directions. You don’t need to spend all morning running down supplies and trying to figure out exactly what you need to do!
If you’re looking for a fun and interactive way to teach science this year, you can’t miss BookShark Science!
