Welcome to Homeschool Hideout!

Hey y’all!

I’m Tiffany, a lover of sweet tea, writing and family game nights. From day one, I wished to homeschool but that just wasn’t in the cards. 5 years into public school, we bit the bullet and pulled our kids out to homeschool.

Scariest. Decision. Ever.

This decision has led to a complete lifestyle overhaul for our family. We are constantly changing our methods and ideas as we learn more and more of what it takes to educate our kids in a way we desire.

What you can expect to find at Homeschool Hideout:

I admit it: I am probably the laziest homeschool mom you will ever meet. I believe in teamwork, learning through many different avenues and utilizing technology to your greatest advantage. Our day is not complete without an educational show, hands-on activity or a fun celebration.  We love making learning fun, whether through board games or a fun science experiment. Learning doesn’t have to be dull and we try our hardest to make it as fun as possible. After all, books are meant to take you on adventures, not for everyday learning!

As a stay-at-home mom, I understand the struggles you face when trying to juggle it all. From feeding your family a healthy dinner, to investing in your marriage, to keeping your house clean(ish), I’ve been there. It’s a tough job that’s nothing short of impossible. You aren’t supermom and sometimes you need a break. Homeschool Hideout is a place of refuge, whether you need a laugh or advice.

While I love to devour homeschool curriculums, the truth is that I can’t afford the best of the best. Instead, I get creative and find ways to provide my kids with what we need to learn best. Turns out, you don’t need fancy, overpriced books. You simply need a small budget and the desire to make it work. I love finding cheap or even free homeschool resources to share with my readers. Who wants to spend hundreds of dollars a year on curriculum when it could be better spend on a mini-vacation!?!

If you’re looking for a way to make a difference in people’s lives or just want a sense of purpose in your life, you’ll want to check out my posts on how to make money blogging. In 2019, I worked less than 10 hours a week and brought in well over $10,000, without ever leaving my house! For 2020, I’m on track to triple, if not quadruple that income. So why am I telling you about my personal finances? I’m not bragging but I know how hard it is to live on one income. As homeschoolers, we give up a lot but a second income is probably the hardest. Blogging has opened up doors for our family that I NEVER would’ve imagined!

If you find yourself struggling in an area, I’m only an email away. I want to be the encouragement you need when you feel like giving up. I want to make homeschooling easier for you and am praying for you to succeed. I’d love for you to join our mailing list, where you will receive a bi-weekly newsletter to keep you up to date on the freshest posts at Homeschool Hideout.

From one homeschool mom to another, I just want to say “You’ve got this!”

I’m proud of you for doing what is best for your family, even when the world says otherwise.

Let’s team up to make the world a better place, one kid at a time!
