In the last few years, Netflix has completely transformed the way many Americans watch movies.  Long gone are the days of driving to the video store, browsing through the aisles of endless new releases. Now,  you can do it all, right from the comfort of your home. From romance to dramas, there’s something for everyone. Lucky for us, the site is jam-packed with educational shows to stream on Netflix.

Netflix has also been a game-changer in the way we homeschool. Sick days can still be educational. Parents can clean the house while kids learn, right from the couch. The number of educational shows to stream on Netflix is growing everyday! Not to mention the benefits Netflix has added to homeschoolers who learn best visually.

But how do you know what to watch on Netflix? Once you start browsing, it’s easy to get sidetracked by the latest Disney shows or your favorite sitcoms. Let me tell you a little secret to keeping the kids on task: Create a separate profile on Netflix. Name it “School” and add ONLY educational materials to this profile. A great starting point is to add our “100 best Educational Shows to Stream on Netflix” list.

Oh wow! I've never seen most of these! Animals, nature, wars and more. This list of 100 educational shows to stream on Netflix is being printed out, as we speak!

Before we get started, you should know that this is NOT the most recent list of educational shows to stream on Netflix. In fact, a lot of these shows are no longer available on Netflix. We do our best to try to keep it updated, but the fact is, Netflix is CONSTANTLY adding and removing content, making it hard to keep it up to date.
